Out in Wine Country

Last Sunday, Avi was sadly at work, but Ben, the boys, and I packed up and drove out into wine country for some fun; both kid and over 21 fun.

Our first stop was the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. It's a huge collection and right up Noam's (um, and my) alley.

One building is space oriented, we started there since Noam is very into outer space right now.
They had an amazing collection of rockets and military rockets. Even some NASA prototypes. The massive Titan II rocket was so tall it was put into the ground a few stories down!
I am a space geek too and loved looking around at the various lunar modules and space capsules.
Noam was all about the kid's section. He spent close to 30 minutes playing on these ride on planes.
The big draw at the aviation side of the complex is Harold Hughes' Spruce Goose. The plane is gigantic and quite amazing to see first hand.

The only way to get a good picture of the whole plane was using the panorama feature!

After we finished there we drove to some of the area wineries for some wine tasting.
We tasted at 3 places I went to the first time I came out to wine country once I turned 21, brought back nice memories!
Noam's idea of wine tasting is to run around on the tasting room patio. Ronan's idea is to sleep in the carrier. Perfect companions for a fun Sunday!

Another fun day, will you adopt me? haha Living close to NASA, I've seen a few of their space "things", pretty amazing to see in person!

Amazing, while you were there at the space station, our family was at Houston's NASA Space Center on the same day!!! Funny how our paths are the same at times☺ Loved seeing the differences in the two places. Happy 2014.

Sounds like a wonderful day for all. I did a wine tasting on my honeymoon, but that was back when my appreciation for a good wine was lacking. I would love to try again!

Gosh - have not been wine tasting in probably 15+ years. How fun. What a great place. So happy to see you do all these great things in your travels.

Wine country is so beautiful. I could visit there over and over and never tire of the scenery. I think your wine glass photos are gorgeous. So glad you had such a fun time.

My nephew (predominately home schooled) did his science study for his freshman year in high school at that space museum! He had a great time. I remember our trip to Cape Canaveral in Florida when I was a kid - the sheer size of the rockets was staggering! Also, we should do an Oregon wine tasting...my husband has some Oregon wines that he's partial to - but we've never visited a vineyard out there. Looks like a special day!

My parents used to take me to wineries all the time when I was little, and I spent most of the time much like much like Noam. They were probably one of my least favorite parts of vacation. But now looking forward, they're definitely something I plan on subjecting my future children too. Ha!
