It's artichoke season! I love digging into a nice choke on Friday nights, this one did not disappoint!
The Random:
I may live in a city, but it sure feels like a small town sometimes. Earlier in the week, I was walking down my street when my UPS man popped his head out of the truck and goes, "oh hey! I have a package for you" Got to love that even in Brookline, where I live in an apartment, my UPS guy knows who I am and is able to pass along a passage before he's at my actual front door, thanks Mark the UPS guy!
The Fun:
So...I may have gotten called out on twitter, by Thomas Roberts of MSNBC. He's been a vocal Orioles fan (the Morning Joe team are mostly Sox fans). Since I was going to the Sox-O's game I decided to sent a "playful" tweet. Well, the Sox lost and Thomas was "rubbing" it in Barnicle's face. I told him not to gloat - and he threw my tweet back in my face and said I shouldn't taunt. Yeah, I had that coming!

Haha, well... I guess you did have it coming just a bit ;)
Oh, I love artichokes, too!!
Oh I love it! And how cool about the UPS guys. xx Have a wonderful week Tamar!
Thanks for the reminder on the goodness of artichokes. I used to eat them all of the time, and have somehow "forgotten them". good reminder. It is a "feel good" when you are 'known" in the biggness of the city life. That is what is so great though about neighborhoods.
Yum, artichokes. We haven't gotten any in a while... maybe next grocery excursion.
Thanks for hosting!
Tamar! You are too cute! You eat artichokes on Friday nights?!?! Most people eat pizza, but you pick the ever popular artichoke. I love your new sneakers. I love the UPS man even more. : )
Friday night artichokes! Sounds good! Love those sneaks! That's a great color! And how about getting to go to a free play? You just get to do cool stuff!
It's always awesome to get that small-town feel in a big city. It never fails to make me smile when I see some bus drivers raise their hand up in greeting as another bus driver passes them. Small things like that do make a difference.
How do you prepare your artichokes? I bought baby artichokes and prepared them with a recipe I found and they were pretty tough...as in lots of fiber!
Lol, about UPS, I always feel the same here in my city. I don't think in large cities people don't know who we are...they are just too "busy" to stop and give a minute of their time.
I love the look of artichokes and love to order outside but have never tried preparing at home.
Happy Monday!
Ah....I always love The Baseball Gods at work! They are better than karma :)
Okay - that is really super cool that he knew you & could give you your package. LOVE the color you chose.
too funny with the tweeting!
I've never cooked fresh artichokes. I need to try that some time! That is so cool about the UPS guy!
Love the familiarities often overlooked in large cities. Kudos to the USP dude. (digging those shoes too)
Love those shoes! It is great that your UPS guy knows you. That is the way we are with our mail carrier. Honey was disappointed today when he brought a package up and didn't have any dog biscuits in his pocket like he usually does. He promised her he would get to the store to buy more and give her an extra one next time. :)
I'm pretty sure I've never actually done anything with an artichoke. Might have to try it some Friday night. Thanks for hosting!
