The end.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
The end. The end of the school year, the end of our beloved and special school. The end of the year is always full of emotions; happiness to have completed another year and arrived at summer time and sadness to say goodbye for a few months.
But this. This is so different. This is goodbye for good. Closing the door and moving on. No promise of seeing how much everyone grown come September. No chance to see them continue to learn and grow in the coming years.
But the memories. Oh the memories I will take with me. The 27 children I had the distinct honor and pleasure of teaching, they will forever have a special place in my heart. The other kiddos I got to interact with and watch grow, the staff who became my second family and friends. The laughs, the headaches, the tough days and the good. It has all shaped who I am today. At times I can't decide if I should laugh, cry, or both.
Thank you KSA, thank you 3rd graders, thank you Ilanot.

Thank you for the dedication, the fun, the learning.

Thank you for the space unit, thank you for Thanksgivukkah, thank you for the math centers, thank you for the milestones, thank you for the fun, thank you for the read-a-louds, thank you for the field trips, thank you for the spelling tests, thank you for the laughs, thank you for everything.

2 years ago I was given the chance to join the KSA team, they quickly became my second family, and my students became my "kids." I can't express what these two years have meant to me and how much a part of me you are. Thank you for the hard work and KSA thank you, thank you for giving me the chance to join this beyond special family.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

When one door closes another door opens. What an honor and privelege to have been a part of something so special.

I've been feeling the same way lately as Miss Middle School finishes up and moves onto a different high school than most of her friends (I'm sure she is feeling the same way). Those kids will never forget you!!

A big bloggy hug to you! I've loved hearing about these precious children and how you nurtured their creativity and helped them learn. Now, on to the next adventure :)

So glad you got to be a part of KSA and that you had two wonderful years there. I'm sure you have many lovely memories of your time there, but now --onward to new beginnings! :)

Sending you hugs also! It is such a scary feeling - not knowing what is next. But I, for one, am looking forward to finding out what your next adventure is!

Glad you had the two years there, molding lives and making memories!

A time to take what you have gathered and use it in the next phase.

Very sweet post and reflection. My children attend an international school and someone is always leaving at the end of the year. This year we will lose 5 families from our congregation--so sad to see them go, a few tears will be shed, but as you said, we are grateful to have had the experience of knowing these families.

Oh memories...we never forget them do we?! Take all the good and make it even better in the future. Well done my friend.

Oh I was in near tears reading this knowing how hard this is for you.

Gratitude replaces heartache each time.

Thanks for sharing your school and your students with me each week, in a way that kept them private yet still told the story.

Wow! You sound like a fabulous teacher. How sad that this chapter is closing, but I'm sure you've got something epic planned for the next one. Best of luck with wherever it takes you! Bonny
