My little cousin ("little" - he's now 17 and a good foot taller than I am...) is in Boston for the summer at an summer program (that I actually did 9 summers ago). On Sunday, I picked him up for an afternoon off. We went and got brunch (he was grateful for non-dining hall food!) and then hit the town so I could show this NY "kid" Boston.
I had planned to take him to Fenway for a tour, but mother nature clearly is a Yankee's fan and it was torrentially pouring, so aquarium it was! I hadn't been in about 5 years, so I was excited to see the fishies, penguins, and turtles.
After our time with the fishies, I gave him a quick driving tour of downtown. As we passed the Public Garden I saw a parking spot open up (yay free Sunday street parking!) and we hopped out so he could see the duckling statue up close. We then wandered around Beacon Hill, which he compared to Brooklyn, "it's yuppy, but authentic" (he's quite witty). Then a quick JP Licks stop, and a walk along the Charles before I returned him to his program. It was a fun afternoon summer Sunday afternoon, and I only felt a little old signing him in and out of his camp like a package and playing the big cousin/tour guide roll!
also...going to do a better job at promoting my Monday link-up!

We visited the aquarium there when we visited, it is a great place to have fun.
whenever I go to an aquarium I look for Nemo!
I went to the Boston Aquarium years ago! Sounds like a fun day with your "little" cousin! You are the super cool "big" cousin for sure!!!
Awe you sound like you had a great time. These PHOTOS my dear are EXCELLENT!!!! Thanks for your words of encouragement. I feel really great today and I felt great yesterday. Are we seeing a trend? Yay!!!
aquariums are always fun! you are a good cousin!! My older cousins were always so darn mean to me!
Love going to aquariums! Great job capturing all the fun colors you can see there. Sounds like a fun day with your cousin

Oh, you did find Nemo. I'm glad you enjoyed a day with your cousin.
Oh, that first photo of the little bird! Smile, smile, smile.
How fun! You did find Nemo! What I love most about the aquarium is the touch ponds with rays, safe sharks, and other fun animals. Glad you gave the "little" cousin a great day with good food.
Wonderful photos! I like your nephew's wit and enjoyed your description of the two of you enjoying some "together" time. I live in Vancouver's Yaletown, better known as Yuppieville. It's honest too :) I'd like to see all wild creatures released from aquariums (there's quite the to-do about that in Vancouver right now) except for those in need of rehab or a safe place to be if it turns out to be impossible to return them to the wild.
check out those aquarian shots - guess we both were on the quest to find Nemo recently. I am betting your cousin enjoyed his visit - it is Boston after all.
My nephew will be attending Boston Ballet (on Clarendon) soon. I'll show these pics to him, so when the weather is wet, chilly (So California boy) or snowy, he can get out & see the sights.
