Before returning to civilization last Sunday, we drove to Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the NE and it's also known for the wackiest weather in the area. It's nearly 7,000 feet above sea level and an 8 mile trek by car (in low gear!). We braved the drive, with barely any visibility and made it to the top - where there was 0 visibility, frigid temps, and rain! Next time I'll wear sneakers and pants, I was cold!! But it's a must do in the White Mountains, so I'm glad I can say I made it up and down!
The Random:
You get this bumper sticker when you enter the auto road. If you live up in New England, you see them on a lot of cars. I always thought you earned the sticker at the top of the mountain, nope, before you even attempt the drive (it was white knuckles the entire way) they give to you. My friend went, "I guess in case you don't make it down, you still earned it" - thankfully, we made it up - and down!
The Fun:
I spent lots of time in my classroom this week getting it set up. I am really nearly there! Just some finishing touches and I think I will have it all. set. up. Let the fun begin!

Congratulations to you and your car! I used to teach, back to school preparations were always fun and exciting!
Oh my that drive sounds scary. I'm not sure I'd enjoy that but wow, you did it! To bad the weather wasn't so great.
Good luck in the coming school year, I bet you have an awesome year.
I think I would have the white knuckles going on with that fog. Congrats on making it up and down! Hope your school prep days are getting off to a good start!
I certainly hope you are displaying that sign with pride!! Good luck on your new school year ahead...I know it will be a great success!
I have definitely seen those signs before!

Woohoo on making it up (and down) Mt. Washington!
Always exciting looking forward to the beginning of the school year. :)
I remember going there as a child. My dad drove a stick-shift. I recall that he stopped a few times to make sure the car didn't overheat.
Wow! Cool you made it up that mountain but too bad you couldn't see anything. I bet on a clear day it's got amazing views. Good luck with your new school year and happy prepping.
