The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 40

The Good:

We started our first social studies unit and the kids are eating it up! We're doing a big geography, mapping, and 50 states unit and I cannot wait to see how much they learn.

The Random:
The things you learn on twitter. Otherwise captioned, why I shouldn't be on twitter at 10 pm... And I am slightly ashamed to admit that I watched it and it was 30 minutes of insane South Parkness, but pretty hilarious.

The Fun:
I hosted breakfast Saturday night after Yom Kippur. It was nice to have some friends over and a chance to eat after the day long fast. It did require the greatest amount of self-control to get things ready while still fasting, no nibbling allowed... But after a meaningful day, my bagel with onions and lox was so worth it!

Some day I should try a bagel with onion and lox. We live in a Jewish community and all my friends have it...I really should try. We also get great bagels here. You can't find a good bagel just anywhere! Happy Yom Kippur.

What a great classroom you've got! You did show amazing restraint preparing that breakfast. Looks so yummy!

You and your kids should check out the quizzes (games) they have on Jetpunk.com. They have a number of quizzes about the states. (Here's one: http://www.jetpunk.com/quizzes/how-many-states-can-you-name.php)

Oh, is it common to use the kippah in school also? I didn´t know that. :-)

Looks like a wonderful lesson in geography. That projected globe map is so cool. I'm super jealous of all your fall goodness. Last week felt so much like it was still summer here and a super hot summer at that. I need my fall!

The lox looks so, so good! Of course I'm a bit biased here, since I can't really eat it while pregnant. Although can have it cooked and had some lox and eggs lately and found it to be AMAZING!
