Mt. Auburn at Fall

I was in serious need of some time with my camera and nature. I decided to go take a nice stroll through the Mt. Auburn cemetery and take in the fall scenes.
It's so interesting, to me, to find peace and beauty in a cemetery, where each stone tells a story.
As I wandered around the monuments and stones, I suddenly thought about how these individuals last resting place has become an amazing retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The hour or so of time I spent in the cemetery was quite good for my photographers soul. After a crazy week, this gorgeous place allowed me to step back, relax, and just be with nature, my camera and my thoughts.
I left, as the sun set, in a place where I felt grounded and relaxed. Such a beautiful place right in my neck of the woods.

And! Come link up and join the Good.Random.Fun. each Monday, right here!

There is always something so sad about tombstones but your shots are glorious and beautiful.

Tabor, enjoyed your wanderings through the cemetery. My mother always wanted me to go the cemetery with her to talk about all the relatives from the past, etc. I've decided I'm not going there...spread to the winds!

Beautiful captures! Peace and tranquility is not always easy to find today in town and city. That's what I am thankful for, now living in the mountains.

These are lovely. Many people find cemeteries to be creepy or depressing but I'm with you in they can be peaceful and calming.

You really found some beauty here. I'm sure the solitude was good for the soul. I love those times to get away and just think.

Beautiful images. I have found the cemeteries in Wisconsin very beautiful too, especially the ones in the farming communities surrounded by the corn and soybean fields.
