My happy place!

Over the weekend, I took advantage of the gorgeous weather, well, gorgeous cold weather to get the first day on the slopes under my belt.
I've been boarding for 13 years and I still get a huge grin on my face as I approach the slopes, my true happy place.
Conditions were cold, but the slopes were in fantastic condition - perfect mix of groomed terrain and powder.  I actually think this was my best day form wise. It's really like getting back on the bike, my muscles took over and down the sloped I went. I am still in awe that my mind goes totally blank as I board - for someone who is always thinking of a million things, this is an awesome feeling!
I treated myself to a new helmet after 13 seasons. The old one and I had been through a bunch together, but it was time to update the equipment and keep protecting the old noggin!
Here's to a great season, slope side!

Glad you had a fun day. I used to ski...not so much anymore.

As a girl who is petrified of things like this, I am in awe and IMPRESSED!!!! Good job!!! Ryan would love this so much.

I'm so glad you enjoy the skiing, but it's not for me. First of all, I hate being cold, and second I'm too chicken to slide down the side of a mountain on slick runners! ;-)

you are awesome! I hate the cold so I could never be a snow boarder. I've been skiing once.

I wish boarding was a thing back in my day of footloose and carefree trips to the mountains. I managed a little cross-country but totally vetoed downhill after a particularly frigid day in completely inadequate apparel.

I bet it was an exhilarating day to get out of the city and embrace and enjoy the snow.

Fun....I tried boarding once and ended up being taken down the mountain on a snowmobile. Ug. Now I stick to cross country skiing : )

Hey, that's pretty cool. My former teachers never did anything like that. LOL Do you show your students? I bet they'd get a kick out of it.

Good for you! Everyone should have a happy place. I used to ski -- many many decades ago -- and then the knees said NO MORE!

I saw some of these on instagram....made me nervous so I will live vicariously through you and your younger body! lol

Oh! The zen of the zone! Rock on, Tamar.

You are so brave! I think you'd have to give me shove to get going.

It's been forever since I've been to the mountains! Seriously, the last time I went skiing I was in college. I definitely miss it though and would love to get back out there. Now if only I can convince the boy to feel similarly!

So you are a snowboarder, something I didn't know about you. I'm not into any winter sports (I like all my bones just like they are, not broken) but I'm so glad you got to visit your "happy place" and had a good time.

Brrr! I've never found a way to embrace the slopes.

Looks like a fun day, not sure I dare to do skiing though ( I'm a bit of a whip with heights and going fast lol ) Great picture Tamar :)
