I finally got a new laptop! I'd had my old one for over 4.5 years, and it was really ready to be replaced. I am an Apple girl and really did my research on the best new option, Friday I did the deed! This baby is FAST and the retina display is so vivid!
The Random:
I love contemporary art, but some pieces make me scratch my head. Like this giant cheese grater...
Funny story actually! When I was little I saw a ring of rocks on the floor in a gallery at the Philly Art Museum and proclaimed: "they call this art? I can do this in the yard at home!" Everyone is a critic...
The Fun:
In terms of a Boston winter, we're lacking in the snow department, big time. We had some this week, enough to make the kids happy during recess. Nothing like a midday snowball fight, right?

Getting new electronics is always so exciting! Enjoy!
I think my post is good, random and fun all in one. Unlike you, i am not a fan of modern art, but the graters make laugh--i actually kind of like it. And as for new computers go, I need one badly.
Tamar, I'm with you on the cheese grater art. What's up with that? Perhaps if it was "something" made out of cheese graters, that would be different. But, giant replicas of existing cheese graters. Somebody has no real imagination for sure. Hey, how much is he or she getting paid for that????? Maybe they are crazy like a fox. :)
Congratulations on your computer. Based on my old iPad, I can only imagine how much that rocks! And the cheese graters, seriously? :)
Ha...that "art"! I'd love to know the story behind that piece. :)
Once a Mac girl always a Mac girl! Love that art.
Yay for the new toy, I am sure you'll have fun with it.
I am the same with art. I love almost any and all art, especially modern, but sometimes... smh :)
Have a great week.
I'm going to need a new Mac soon. Which one did you get? I love the snowball fight photo!! Cheese grater art is funny! I like some modern art but some I just don't get!
Congrats on the new computer!! How exciting! I giggled at your art story. I am NOT an art expert at all...and sometimes when I see masterpieces that I know are amazing, I just stare and think "I really think I could have done that..."
And yet I'm so sure I could NOT have done that..
YAY for the new computer. How exciting! I upgraded my desktop last year but our laptop is ancient. Like we have had it for about 8 years - it takes about 30 minutes to turn on & get functioning enough to get online. Pathetic. Time for a new one :)
FANTASTIC shot of the playground action!
I love him! Funny play in the snow!
Congrats on your new technology. I have a Galaxy4 and love it! Some art is definitely hard to understand, especially if it has an enormous price tag.
We are lacking on snow too. But rain? wow, we have had a TON of it this last week!
Exciting to have a new lap top! Especially if you can have an Apple! Am thinking about it, but it has been many years ago I had an apple... Enjoy your week!
Hahaha, sometimes it's mind-boggling how these types of 'art' get exhibited in major galleries.
Congrats on the new notebook!
Lucky you to get a new Apple! I would have to remark on that "art" too. lol
Congrats on the new computer! I would certainly wonder about that artwork too. Thanks for hosting each week!
Congrats on the new laptop and the snow. That's just the right amount- enough to make the kids happy but not enough to make a mess of everything.
I love modern art and when it makes me laugh!
awesome on the new laptop!
So exciting that you are headed out here for a visit soon...maybe our paths will cross.
Hmmm, the giant cheese grater would have me scratching my head also. Hooray on the new MAC! I plan to make the switch from PC when I need a replacement. Fun time playing in the little snow we have had. I'm actually kind of missing the snow. We got a couple inches today and will get a couple more tomorrow, but this is nothing compared to last year.
Modern art can definitely be pretty out there. I think my all time favorite was called cardboard on ground, and was literally just that!
