The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 2.7

The Good:
I made it out of Boston in between storms! Left the snow behind and landed in warm and green Oregon for a few days of fun with the nephews!

The Random:
We all know, Portland is weird. The airport is famous for it's carpet. There are t-shirts with the pattern, socks, i-phone cases, and now even a beer in honor of it (yes you read that right). Well, not sure if you saw the news a few weeks ago, but they're replacing the carpet. So now while it remains, everyone is taking #pdxcarpet foot selfies. I landed, was so happy to see I wasn't too late, and snapped a footie with Avi and Noam!

The Fun:
Having lots of fun with the kiddies: reading books, double fisting milk cups, park fun, sushi lunch, and Valentine's dinner dates!

Yipee on getting out of Dodge while the getting was good - I understand from Allyson that it is mucho brrrrrr!

Glad too that you got the foot selfie before the carpet went, but more that you got it with the Noamster. Enjoy your visit.

Ah yes- we have been hearing about the carpet here. So weird - I never noticed it all the times I have been there. Who knew.....

I can't believe you were so close yet so far....again. Grrrr - one of these days we will get to meet up.

Looks like you got outta Dodge just in the nick of time! Enjoy your 'warm' time away!

Nice to breathe in some warmer, juniper scented air! Wonder when the carpet's going - we'd all read about that. I wonder if it will last until july...that'll be my only chance for such a photo. I'm sure the carpet's in my photo archives! Enjoy your family fun time!!

I never heard about the airport carpet - interesting! Oregon is one of the states I still need to visit.

I admire your diligence to get clear across the country to get your love to those sweet little guys. I saw a thing on CBS Sunday Morning a few weeks ago about that crazy carpet. I DON'T think they should REPLACE it. It is a classic. Have fun and perhaps RED is my color. lol

I'm surprised the carpet is still there...I've heard "this week is the last week" for several weeks now!

Let's plan for July then...I ended up being busier than I thought I'd be this week. Tuesday is our day to play violin at the nursing home and Wednesday I have several violin lessons to teach.

Enjoy the rest of your time!

Looks like you are having a fabulous time! I didn't know about the carpet and I wonder if I noticed it the one time I landed there. It reminds me of the early 90's which is when I would have been there. I'm dying over the way it has inspired so much marketing.

Glad you got to go to Oregon and spend time with your nephews.

Am happy for you - spending time with your cousiins is much nicer than being couped up because of a snow storm:)

Congrats on making it out of Boston! Hopefully it will all be melted by the time you get home. ;-)

So glad you got some time away from the snow and cold to spend with family! I'm seriously considering visiting family in Florida right now. I really need to plan a visit each February. :)

That is so hilarious about the airport carpet. I had no idea! LOL! Happy for you getting your pictures before it's gone. Looks like a super great visit with the nephews and I bet you were happy to have a break from all that snow.

I picked up an aunt visiting me here in Portland this weekend and snapped a PDXCarpet selfie myself. It will be sad when it is gone. Yes, us Portland area people are a weird (but proud) bunch.

I didn't know about the PDX carpet. Funny! I love your shoes! Glad you are enjoying the warmth and your nephews!

I have been reading Jill's (Daily Bread) posts for almost a year now, and finally thought I should join them. I am so glad I did. I wish I could visit Oregon just to get a shot of that iconic carpet. Too bad they cannot find a company to replicate it.

I've never heard of the Portland carpet. Definitely fits for how random!
