The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 39

The Good:
This year, I am working hard on using the "exit ticket" system. A quick question used to see if students understood the lesson. I created a spot in the room, with a square labeled with each kiddo's name, where they can put their note when done. I can see who didn't turn it in and can assess how the lesson went. So far - it's been a breeze to use and I love the quick snapshot I get from the lesson.

The Random:
Post Yom Kippur, we decided to break the fast with JP Licks. Nothing sounded better than a nice scoop of ice cream after 26 hours sans food or drink. We followed it up with a smorgasbord of other nosh, but this hit the spot.

The Fun:
Brookline has launched a series of mini libraries all over the town. The concept is "take a book, leave a book" a fun way to get a book to read without a trip to the library or shop. You borrow the book and bring it back when done. You can even donate a book or two, if you want! The TARDIS shaped one by school is by far my favorite!

I'm with you- if I went 26 hours of fasting- the first thing I would go for would be a bowl of ice cream. Tastes better at a shop too- rather than scooping at home :)

My friend has a neighbor with one of these cute little library houses with books for exchange. It's really a great idea, I think.

the mini-library are a great invention! Am surprised some do not take advantage (read: stealing) from it.

Ice cream sounds good even without having been without food or drink for 26 hours. Love the idea behind the free library. I have so many books I need to donate - just haven't gotten to the local library lately.

That ice-cream sounds like the perfect treat after a fast and those sharing book stands are so cool. They look like big big houses-- how fun!

I love hearing about Little Free Libraries! I've never actually seen one in real life, although I do know there are several near me that I need to make a point of actually checking out!
