Mt. Snow

A delayed arrival of winter can't keep me off the slopes!! We headed to Vermont to scope out the conditions and hopefully get some runs in...
Maybe we can rename the resort "Mt. Some Snow"? It was really odd to be riding up the mountain, in the cold but see so much brown! They had a few nice runs open and we took advantage of them. It was slow going, as I played the role of snowboarding instructor.
I'm kinda ashamed to say this is the biggest mountain I've ever boarded at. From the top down, those runs were LONG! Pretty awesome to just keep going and going and going. The second day, the weather was so nasty at the top, by the time I got to the bottom I was a sheet of ice, so worth it though!
Of course, what I love most of visiting new mountains is the fun ways each place decorates and styles itself - this board tree...wicked!

Here's to a season with snow, more runs, and lots of new mountains!

That is a cool board tree!! The lack of snow was crazy! I love your pic looking down the mountain!

While I will happily leave this entire sport to you, I love reading about your adventures and it looks like such a fun time!!!

That would be odd going up the slopes and seeing brown on one side. Hopefully more snow will arrive for you

I gave up any snow "activities" years ago when my knees gave out. But ... I love seeing the snow adventures of others. Nice memories for me ... never tried snowboarding. Looks like fun! The tree is great! Happy New Year!

looks awesome. I hate cold weather though so I can't say I'd ever try it!

Well how fun for you. I did think there was a bit of a "lack of snow" in that first shot. - I'll leave the snowboarding and skiing to people like you who enjoy being in the cold.

Wow, that's a lot of brown. Thank goodness for snow making machines, right? I haven't skied since the 90's and am always wary of the term "loose granular". My daughter tried her hand at snowboarding and came back sore all over! Love that you enjoy it so, it does look like fun.

I know how much you love this, so I'm glad you got to go. Really curious how the snow will go this year. I'm hoping El NiƱo works magic for us, but know that means warmer days for you!
