We all participated in the Walk for Babies over the weekend. Ronan came a bit early and spent some time in the NICU before coming home; so it's not lost on our family how much this organization does to help the smallest babies have the best start at life possible. We did a nice 10k walk around downtown and the little man ran a fair amount of it!
The Random:
Avi and I went downtown with Noam midweek. He biked around Jameson Park which has wicked cool fountains. It went from a bike ride through the water and then turned into a kid in the water!
The Fun:
We took our customary "in Portland go to the zoo" trip. Well, Ronan calls it the "djoo" - we saw a very social and interactive seal, the gorgeous new elephant home, and the cheetahs!

Such happy photos! I know y'all had a great time.
Gemma + Jamie were also prem babies (35w). Kids and water... :) that zoo looks lovely too! Have a beautiful week!
I have always wanted to visit Portland, OR. I lived in Washington State for some time when I was younger but never got down to Portland. If I didn't know already that you lived in the Boston area I would have been able to figure it out by your description of the fountains..."wicked cool". I think it is mostly us Boston-area folks who use the term wicked to describe something awesome.
I love that you did the walk. It's so great what they are able to do for the most precious little ones. What a great trip!!!
I so want to visit Portland!!!! These pics are so fun!
Hubby and I love the zoo, and have not been to one in a while. Time to schedule a trip!
Great cheetah shot.
I know Askenazi *can* eat different meat during Passover but in the congregations I have been across the country, they usually eat chicken. Nothing else. And even if individual families follow Sephardi traditions, the congregations' official stance is strict Askenazi.
This what is funny about one of the congregations here as it started out Sephardi and has now switched to Ashkenazi tradition.
Love that shot of the seal/otter? swimming by to say hello :)
I think you get to the zoo more often than I do! Your post reminded me that I should take my girls again soon.
The last time I was at that fountain was with you : )
I love your zoo shots!
Children love seeing animals up close at the zoo! Ronam must have really enjoyed all his special event!
What a fun week. You water pictures made me smile. They brought back memories of my kids and water, it's hard to keep them out of the water, its so enticing.

Looks like a great trip and I can't wait to hear more!
My oldest sister was a Nicu nurse for many years and they did some amazing things with the babies! That is so worth running walking for! Your little guy just makes me smile in his crown!
Me thinks it's great to raise children with the awareness supporting good causes:):)
And also I browsed your posts below - I have been waiting for your Boston marathon pics! Great job, Tamar! and I chuckled at your nephew's wondering about people at Starbucks - they could have had so much more fun (and good food) if they would have known about Passover!
Aww... Well done Ronan! Great Job little man! I love the water fountain. It is so cool! I wish we had something like this over in Hitchin. I have a love-hate relationship of zoo. My kids loves it & so do I - but really would like them to be in the wild if they are captive in small places. Seem like you have a great week. :)
So much fun with your nephews. Glad yo had such a great visit.
Biking in the water to kid in the water...haha, I love that! That's the part that's most fun (for them especially), right?
Ronan is adorable and how wonderful to give back to something so vital to many. Love the random - that is a wicked cool fountain.
What a great cause! Looks like he had fun. Love the zoo images!
Oh, the kids look so cute! Fun times!
Those boys are so adorable! And your images of the animals are stunning!
Lovely pictures Tamar :)
