The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 30

The Good:
I decided to put my legs to good use and run the BAA Half-Marathon in October on the Dana Farber team. I'm raising money that will go to one of the top Cancer research centers in the world to hope their doctors and scientists kick cancer's rear end. I'm 4 training runs in and already getting into the groove (was never a regular runner before!) and am looking forward to accomplishing this in memory of my uncle and aunt and all the others I know who were affected by cancer.

The Random:
I'm pushing myself to find new running routes than the two I always did when I went running (while I am a huge workout junky this is making me run regularly vs biking at the gym!). My second run I totally mapped a route that ended right at starbucks (because, priorities). It was all great until I saw my name on the cup - never.never.never call me that! At least the run and the coffee was good!

The Fun:
I created an instagram account to track my runs and progress towards the half (so I don't clutter up my more artsy IG). It's been fun to find new people to follow for running tips and inspiration.

If you want to contribute to my fundraising efforts, all with the goal of funding breakthrough cancer research head over here --> TSB's Half Marathon Page

Good for you running for cancer research. Nice that you have a run that ends at Starbucks. I hate it when they get my name wrong.

I wonder sometimes if the Starbucks baristas just like to purposely mess up names! haha.

So happy to see you running for a good cause! So sorry to see your cup- I understand your frustration with that.

Have a great week my friend!

It's so good that not only are you keeping healthy and strong but also using your running skills to help others! I am past the age where I can begin running--creaky knees and all_ but I love to walk and hike uphill. I did a walkathon for an eye bank fundraiser recently.

That's great about the marathon and training for it! Those baristas are always messing up names!

I love that you map your running to end at a Starbucks. Good motivation and a great treat. Sorry about the name though.

Good luck on your 1/2 marathon training and then run. The fall should be a beautiful time for the event.

Good for you -- running a 1/2 marathon. Go, Tamar (or "Tami"!).

Oh my, Tamar........are they STILL doing that with your name? I'd pick up one of those comment cards or leave a comment on their website for sure. A person's name is well, personal and you have a right to have it said or spelled correctly. You could also look at the server's name tag and come up with a strange pronunciation of his or her name and say it very loudly. It would work, especially if they told you that you said it wrong. But of course you couldn't go there for coffee EVER again unless you like server spit.
