Little Things: Fantasy and Crystal Caverns

Right by our hotel was a popular attraction: Chrystal and Fantasy caverns. Two grottos, deep underground. Both are several hundred feet below ground and were discovered in the early 1900s by 2 teenage boys who upon finding the holes in the ground went into pitch blackness to explore (boys!)
It's so cool to go deep under the ground and be surrounded by stalactites, stalagmites, and ocean water. The caves were chilly but still humid, because the air doesn't circulate like above ground.
The formations were created millions of years ago and the water dripping through the limestone was rain that fell about six months ago - it takes that long to drip through the ground!
It was a fantastic adventure upon our arrival in Bermuda; I'd ever seen anything like it! Our hotel also had a grotto, which you could swim in (so so cold) and we even had a spa treatment in the grotto spa - pretty awesome!!

THOSE PICTURES!!! Oh my goodness. Stunning! I am not sure if I could handle going in a cave or not, but that is pretty amazing right there! And I am excited for this new link up!

Thanks for taking over Little Things, Tamar! Looking forward to joining you most Thursdays. Great shots of the cavern! We have one about 2 miles away here in south TX. A fun, cool thing to do when it's 100 degrees outside. Have a wonder-filled week!

We did a cave thing in the Bahamas. I thought you'd gone to the same place at first! Is the link up for any types of posts?

Oh how brave! Have never been in a cave and think it may be a little un-nerving for me, beautiful tho. Thanks for hosting LTT.

You have captured their beauty quite well! Underground caverns are simply amazing sites to behold!

very cool! Have you been in any of the Oregon caves? They aren't like this, but they are pretty cool (mostly because they were lava tubes and that's just weird).

Anyway...so glad you are hosting Little Things now!

The caves are amazing. I've been in caves like that before but none that had the water in them like that. It's such a pretty color.
