Little Things: Back to School!

And just like that...
The sunglasses are put away. The pencils and glue sticks and erasers taken back out.
Summer is over and as of yesterday at 8am I have welcomed a new crew of third graders into my room.
This year marks my 3rd year at Maimo.
My 5th year of 3rd grade.
My 5th year of teaching on my own, post grad-school.
I am so excited for this year. I feel so settled as an educator.
I love where I teach. I love who I teach with.
I'm passionate about how I teach and what I teach and really feel like I've hit a sweet spot as an educator.
I cannot wait to see what this year holds for this year and this crew.
I can't wait to document the laughs, the learning, the highlights, the growth.
It's a magical time of the year.
35 kiddos in front of me.
35 8 year olds ready to learn and grow.

Now it's time to get to work!

You are exactly the teacher I would want if I happened to be still in school. You are also the teacher I would want to be like if I had followed through with my plan to be a teacher. You inspire me!

Even though it is school here and has been for weeks now, we still need our sunglasses.

I have 43 students this year total. Next week will be fun-I hope to take pictures of our activities.
