Renaissance Faire

Kind friends and companions, come join me in rhyme
Come lift up your voices in chorus with mine...

Let us drink and be merry, all grief to refrain
For we may and might never all meet here again

{Health to the Company - a Renaissance Faire Song}

Ariel and I headed down to Carve to check out the King Richard's Faire. I haven't been to a Renaissance Faire in 10 years and was so excited to finally get down to the local one!

It's so fun to take in the sights and sounds of a faire. There were so many people in costumes, blacksmiths making knives and swords, knife and ax throwing, and tons of great shoppes to pop in and out of. We also lucked out with amazing weather!

We saw a bunch of fun performances, including a great show with "Jacque" and his whip - oh he was a trip and a half!

But my favorite was for sure the jousting: so amazing to watch that live, right in front of you! They really played up the "duel to the death" and there is just something about a guy in chain mail...

A super fun fall weekend, for sure!

PS: If you'd like to - can you please "LIKE" my 52 Frames shot this week - I could be in the running for the audience award!

Hi Tamar, we love, love, love King Richard's Faire although we haven't been in maybe 15 years (since we moved to Maine). But when we were in MA we visited often. It is where we first heard the Taiko drummers of Odaiko Taiko and fell in love with the big drums.

Looks like you had fun! I've been to the one here and the one in NY, both were interesting places!

Sounds like fun! I remember Tahoe used to host one every year. It was quite popular.
