The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 48

The Good:
Saturday night mom and I went back into the city to see Something Rotten on Broadway. It's a hilarious little show about two brothers trying to get ahead of Shakespeare and his hits. It riffed on so many Broadway shows and the best part was getting to see Adam Pascal (ala Roger in Rent) up close and personal (and sans shirt a great deal of the time)! A funny night out!

The Random:
When mom and I went across the Brooklyn Bridge they had these funny signs warning people about putting pad locks on the bridge. Some NY humor...

The Fun:
While walking towards Battery Park on Thanksgiving we came upon Trinity Church and I realized we had stumbled upon Alexander Hamilton's burial ground (and Eliza's). I was a bit excited to have accidentally come across it on our adventure (I thought he was buried uptown!). But there he was! We also went into the church, a gorgeous space!

Hi Tamar, love the locks/lox sign, being a country guy I often forget to lock my car and house. Stumbling upon things is what I do best! Have a great week.

funny signs and that really is a beautiful sanctuary.

Hmm, I have to look up again why people put locks on the Brooklyn Bridge - weird. Trinity Church is a gem, isn't it? I stumbled across it one day, too and loved it.
Have a great week!

As a former life long New Yorker I really enjoyed this post, Tamar! Seeing a play on Broadway is always a treat. I laughed at the sign! I know "love locks" are causing a big problem on many bridges these days. They are a romantic symbol but wreck havoc on the structure and safety of bridges. I'd gladly turn mine in for an authentic NY bagel and lox! mmmmmmm...so delicious!

My husband worked near Wall St, so I often waited to go to lunch with him by sitting on a bench in Trinity Church's cemetery. It was nice and quiet. Yes, and I often stopped by Hamilton's grave. I wonder what he would think of his new found popularity?

Funny sign. Zachary used to say he wanted a lock, rather than say he wanted some lox. Yay for Adam Pascal!!

What a cool Hamilton find! I love those signs! At least they have a sense of humor about it! :) I've heard that show is fun!
