Everyone knows and love "Make Way For Ducklings" the cherished book by Robert McCloskey. The MFA currently has a small exhibit featuring his drawings from a selection of his story books.
It was so sweet to see these drawings and mock ups of his now famous books. It was like my childhood passing before my eyes walking past his work. I loved how they had a basket of his books to read, too! Such a sweet little show tucked away at the MFA.

We had that book and we loved it! I like that they painted (?) on the wall, too, alongside the framed prints.
Aww these are sweet. Love the painting on the wall too :)
Love those books!
That is so cool. We have that book as a friend who lived in Boston sent it when Gabbie was born!
Is the Little Things link up for any kind of post, like would my post about beer today be allowed?
Thanks for sharing, this was so cool!
That would be a wonderful exhibit to see!
Very cool.
What a cool thing to go see!
...two of my Granddaughters went to preschool in the local "museum district" and could walk with their class to various museums for field trips. Now that is education.
One of my all time favorite children's books. A classic!
I loved this book, and so did my children and now my grandchildren! It is timeless
Confession from the reader/writer: never heard of this book! Clearly I have lived under a rock! But I LOVE THIS!!!!!!
I must admit, I don't know the book. Maybe because I grew up in Germany? The drawings are wonderful though.
One of my favorite children's books! I would love to see these drawings. When we visited Boston we searched for the ducklings in the park -- such a treat! And hard to find. Several people we asked for directions had no clue what we were looking for, but we did eventually find them!
So lovely. Things like this restore my faith in all of us - these pockets of calm, simplicity, creativity and child-nurturing...so vital!! It's been way toooooo long since I've been to the MFA. To any museum, for that matter!
I love both of those books!
Wow, haven't thought about those books for decades, literally! I used to love the Frog and Toad series when my kids were little. They don't make them like that anymore. Have a great day.
Looks nice :)
Such a sweet exhibit!
