Little Things: Marathon Monday!

Monday was the day. The Holy Grail of marathons. A beloved day for this city. Marathon Monday! It was the first time in a few years I was off so I was STOKED to spend the day at Mile 24 cheering on the masses.
I got down to Beacon St. early to stake out a spot. It was great to see the wheelchair and pushchair racers zoom by. Then came the elites. American Meb Keflezighi ran his last Boston. He won in 2014, the year after the bombings and the crowd went nuts when he ran through, even though he was far off the lead.
Soon after the elites zip through, the masses begin to make their way to the finish. The crowd builds, the cheers grow louder and louder, and the energy is amazing.
I spent most of the day camped at Mile 24. Shouting "2 more miles" or "you are doing this" there is nothing more amazing than an exhausted runner giving you a fist bump as they hear you shout their name or cheer them on. This race is Boston's race and we are all in it together! Boston Strong!!

I wish I was there! We were in Boston on Friday to Sunday during the Easter break, right before the marathon. Even that I can feel the vibe! It's incredible..
