G.R.F. Thoughts on Marathon Training

Well.
Today is the day.
The day I make my way from Hopkinton to Boston.
Today is Boston's party. My victory lap after 20 weeks of training.
Hundreds of miles.
Cold runs. Hard runs. Fun runs.
Runs that made me question my sanity.
Runs that made me feel on top of the world.
I've run through a knee injury.
Stretching. PT.
Icing. Taping.
Three years ago this was a mere dream.
I was a spectator.
Now I am a runner.
Now I am running Boston.
I've run this city.
My city.
My Boston.
Forward Together.
This is Boston.
Boston Strong.
Come this afternoon, if all goes well, I will be a marathoner.
I will be a BOSTON MARATHONER.
I am ready.
This is my celebration.
Run my race.
Toe the line in Hopkinton.
Ashland. Framingham. Natick. Wellesley. Newton. Brookline.
Right on Hereford, left on Boylston.
Finish strong.

How exciting, Tamar, I know all that hard work will pay off and congratulations just for getting there. May your path today be without rain, wind, sleet or snow.

I wish you so much luck today! The weather doesn't look like it's going to be great for runners or spectators today. But, at least you won't have to worry about getting too hot. Either way, best of luck, have fun and finish strong. I will be thinking of you all day. I have enjoyed hearing about your training these past months and I'm so proud of you!

Congrats on the marathon! Love all the colorful pictures this week. What great spirit they show. In honor of your run my I chose an end of track meet shot of Justin for my link picture ;0) Maybe a future marath0n runner? He does run all the distance events.
