The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 13

The Good:
Another book down! I am not a huge biography person, but this one was an amazing peek into her life. I loved how much she focused on President Obama too - they really became a "them" and that was a key part of the story.

The Random:
We got a small coating of snow last week. The snowmen were NOT social distancing!

The Fun:
I had a social distancing hike in a local reservation. I love hikes that have big rocky areas to scurry up.

I miss hikes! Ryan and I have a hiking trip planned for later (which we've not had to cancel so far) and I'm SO HOPING it can happen!

I have also been grateful for opportunities to be outside.

A friend in NH told me that the parking lots in hiking areas are full. THey’ve closed the beaches but not the hikes.

I also loved reading Becoming (and I'm not a huge biography reader either). It was so personal; I feel like I know Michelle after reading this. :)

I have been reading so much lately! Still working my way through Stephen King’s Dark Tower Series. Then I have some philosophy books on deck once I finish. I really want to go for a hike but it has been raining for days here and all of our parks and trails have been deemed off limits. I guess we can only walk around the block. But I sure do enjoy seeing the beautiful hiking pictures that others are sharing.

Becoming was one of the memoirs I appreciated - if anyone deserves to write a memoir it's Michelle Obama!

I need to read that. It's on my list! That looks like a great place to hike!

I enjoyed "Becoming" but put it down about halfway through and made myself pick it up and finished it after a while. After that I said it was good...and offered the book to friends. I like walking on paths, feeling the rocks and roots underfoot.

I loved Michelle Obama's biography! She was very honest and candid.

We also have had snow a few times lately and will probably have more if we are lucky.

Stay well, Tamar

I read Becoming not that long ago and loved the inside look at the White House and it's protocols. I also really enjoyed reading about their early lives leading up to the presidency as I really didn't know anything about that.

Good that you can still get out and about safely - that makes such a huge difference.

You can keep your rocks thank you very much. I've been more about flat surfaces and finding a place that's not overrun by large numbers of people. That does look like a good book, wish I had the concentration or time to do so. You must miss the wee little people.

Great post! Watch for snakes on the rocks!

I love hikes with rocks too which is hard to find around our house but not too far up in the foothills. Cute snowmen!
