I saw my first Kaws sculpture in Detroit the summer before last and fell in love with his quirky statues. The Brooklyn Museum has a huge exhibit of his sculptures or companions as he calls them and of course we had to see it! His history is very cool, originally a grafitti artist he fell into creating these companions as his work developed. Each is oddly eery and whimsical in its own way.
Kaws’s works bring in popular icons, emotion, and cultural elements. So many of his pieces are shaped by a range of emotions such as love, friendship, loneliness, and distance. For sure an exhibit I won't forget and am so glad I got to see!

So cool! We haven't been to the Brooklyn Museum yet. We need to go!
Wow, these are so cool! There is one of his sculptures in a museum near us. I looked it up, because they looked familiar, but I'm not sure I saw the one that is there or somewhere else!
I love these!! So glad I got to tag along on your visit! :)

These are so unique! They remind me a bit of Mickey Mouse, for some reason :)
