Penn Station has long been an underground eyesore in midtown. Buried beneath Madison Square Garden it was just, well for lack of a better word... "blech" -- especially compared to Grand Central. Well, no more! The new Moynihan Train Terminal finally opened. Across the street from the garden, behind/under the US Post Office building and it is stunning.
Light-filled, sleek, spacious - just amazing! The subway entrances and tunnels are still mid-face lift but it is such an upgrade for one of the biggest transit hubs in Manhattan.

That is very nice. The shot of the escalator is amazing!
...there's nothing "blech" about this now!
Quite a transformation!
If I ever get back there I would have been surprised by this!
