Signs of Life

There was a really different gallery installation in Chelsea a few weeks back. "Signs of Life" by artist Chiharu Shiota brings to life the overly-connected world we live in. The web-like art is modeled after the neurons in our brain and the connections between us.
The pieces were created in the gallery over the course of two weeks. It was really cool to walk through and look through the webbing from a variety of angles. Amazing how something so simple can be so thought-provoking.

I love this because I feel like it is my brain brought to life. (So as not to misrepresent - nothing in it is ever super important, but there is a lot happening up there! Lots of webs!!)

If you sprinkle lions mane mushrooms on the installation will more connections grow?

This is really cool. It must be even more amazing and interesting in person but your pictures are so great.

What a fascinating exhibit and probably much more impressive in person. Thanks for sharing these photos.
