The Intrepid!

We took Ronan and Noam to the Intrepid while they were visiting! Both boys were so excited to see the planes and learn about the role the carrier played in US military history. We had a stunning summer day (in April...?) and spent almost 2 hours there!
The ship used to have around 3,000 sailors and pilots onboard and carried about 100 planes. The ship took many hits while in combat and now floats in the Hudson River as a museum. In 2011, one of the Space Shuttles joined the fleet and my inner 7 year old loves being able to get so close to the Endeavor! It was really fun to watch the boys so excited to see the planes and learn about the ship, too!

being so close to the space shuttle must have been moving. i remember its first flight in april 81 it was fantastic. here in Paris, (luckily because of the rain which brings some water), we still have winter weather. April in Paris, is not like the song this year.

I am not surprised they were impressed! We have a few marine museums over here - always so interesting. And sometimes I know they have open days when ships come into our port. Enjoy the rest of your week and thankyou again for the linkup.
