There is an iconic installation at Rockefeller Center right now! Robert Indiana, the late creature of the iconic LOVE sign, has a numeric install at the Center Plaza and Channel Gardens. The installation features the famed LOVE sign on 5th Avenue and Indiana's massive numbers across the plaza. Around the ice rink are 193 flags featuring images from Indiana’s Peace Paintings series, created as a response to the 9/11 attacks.
It was really neat to learn about Robert Indiana and see more of his works. So often there are these iconic works of art and you have no clue what other pieces the same artist made! Also...who knew numeracy could be artsy!
