Marathon weekend officially kicks off at the Expo! It is always so exciting to get handed your race bib and shirt. The NYC Marathon Expo is held in midtown at the Javits Center. I had actually never been there and it was a stunning space to get into full race mode!
It's always exciting to see your name on the wall of runner and find the fun photo opps around the Expo. There were some fun vendors and I got some official Team For Kids gear (and a cowbell for mom). It's amazing to see all the runners coming and going: all ages, all speeds, all runners! It was a little surreal to walk out with the bib to my 3rd marathon but it was happening!!

I hope you had a good race and are recovering nicely. That is a very impressive time! Sometimes it takes me that long just to get dressed on a Saturday morning:)

Whooo hooo! My main association of the Javits Centre is walking by it to get to the start of The High Line! Hahaha! And one year, ComicCon was being held there so everyone around was dressed in costume and we were pretty much the only ones wearing regular clothes. Our kids were so confused as they were pretty young at the time.
Love all the "behind the scenes" of the marathon.

That Marathon Expo looked so fun!! You ran right past my daughter's apartment. The whole city was buzzing!
