There is a new fun art piece in Washington Square! A giant disco ball is sitting on the park's east side, reflecting nature and people as they stroll by. The piece by Ryan Van Der Hout combines the dazzling aesthetic of a disco ball with the futuristic form of a space satellite.
There was such a fun whimsy in this piece. On a cold snowy day, it was so neat to see people stopping to take in their reflection before hurrying off across the park. I hope it is still there over the summer, because I bet the reflections are just as amazing with leaves on the trees!
