Portland

Would you believe that there are other things to see and do in Oregon besides play with Noam? I know, right! On New Year's Eve, Avi and I took advantage of the un-rainy weather and went on a 5 mile hike in Forest Park.
The park is the largest park within a city's limits in the US and is stunning. We both love "Grimm" on NBC and we're pretty sure they've taped episodes here, I kept joking a bluebod may jump out of us. Anyway....
We brought Rundi along for some much needed frolicking. She had so much fun, she loves drinking water and loved all the puddles everywhere, yum.
The hike starts out along a stream. With all the rain earlier in the week it was flowing pretty quickly. There was a mist that had settled on the mountain and it was so fun to walk through the mist covered woods.
Another amazing thing about Oregon, it's so green, all year round. These are all straight out of the camera, I used the cloudy WB and voila!
The higher we got (we climbed over 900ft in 1.5 miles) the thicker the mist got. It felt like something out of a movie or fairytale.
Then we reached the top! Pittock Mansion sits at the top of the trailhead. I've been inside on another trip, but it was fun to walk around the grounds this time. Couldn't see much because of the fog, but stunning none the less.
Again, where else in the US will you find so much green in December? It's just very soggy too! We were very muddy by the end of the hike, that's for sure!
We came down a slightly different path and walked across the Thurman street bridge and came down the huge stairs.
We had a great time, and boy were we a bit sore by the end of it! We came home, inhaled some warm soup and got ready to ring in the new year!

ps: double posted and there's a special post below this one!

Beautiful, I love all of the green. You captured the mist so well I can almost feel the cool dampness of it.

Hey Tamar...you got some fantastic shots here. Felt like I did the walk with you. The shots at the summit with the misty fog are so moody and wonderful. Looks like a great time. Enjoy your stay and of course that bundle of cuteness too.

Ooh, I love misty walks! So beautiful. But as out of shape as I am right now, I'll probably be huffing and puffing all the way up! :)
