Words

As part of their weekly homework, my class has a writing prompt to respond to. It can range from write about your favorite restaurant to look out the window for three minutes and write what you saw.  Last week, I had the kiddos invent a word, define it, and use it in a sentence. Their responses were adorable!
We have: clun: a clumsy uncle --- tut: a short word meaning tattered --- and playay: meaning hotdog.
We also have: wib wib: liking or loving something --- flittlis: a flip --- and barbu: a shining sun.
As well as: po: which means jumping --- fooder market: a grocery store --- and pounder: a fast race car.
And: fooball: means football --- jaeck: jumping jack flash --- and: oitnjutn: the new word for countries

There responses were great! They shared there word each day this past week and they loved hearing the words they each came up with! I'm pretty impressed too! I am thinking this would be something great to have them do a few times a year to see how their mind grows!

I love these! Kids are so creative. I always love to read what they write... especially those in the lower grades. :)

Isn't it a shame that so many let their imagination and creativity atrophy from what they had as a kid? Makes you wonder what the world would be like if we all let our imaginations soar.

Very cute! I love that idea! I also love that the creator of playay also corrected the first sentence of the instructions. Too cute!

These are all soooo cute! Now wouldn't that be fun to make a sentence with as many of those words as possible? haha

The pounder flittlis and was tut! LOL
