The cold moved in for real this week, making the year's end seem closer now. I made my first batch of soups for dinner this week, just made the fall and winter lover in me super excited. Then by Friday, it was 26ยบ at work as I pulled into the lot, love it!
This week, let's be honest, it was all about the Red Sox! Just after midnight last Saturday (well, Sunday then...) the Sox punched their ticket to the World Series! Walking around on Sunday, the city just felt super charged. It's so cool to be up here for the series this time!! Wednesday night, as I watched the anthem on tv I heard jets overhead...folks, I live so close to Fenway, I am in the flight path for fly overs!! Game 1 was amazing, game 2, wasn't so pretty, and well game 3? No comment. But the Sox have spirit and are Boston Strong. I figure I will sleep in November!
School was busy too - the kids were of course charged with Red Sox fever, but we still got tons done. Friday we had special visitors day and the kids loved having their grandparents in the class for a few hours showing them their desks and doing some fun activities.
Highlight of the week: The Sox clinching the ALCS and winning game 1 of the series. So great to see this city having something good happen!!
Favorite teaching moment: I love when all of KSA comes together to celebrate Shabbat. Friday we did in honor of special visitors day and the energy was great!
Random-osity: I finally watched The Hobbit. Ehhhh.....not so sure what to think, and this is coming from a die hard LOTR fan. Peter Jackson, what were you thinking??
I'm working on growing the blog's Facebook page - won't you please join me over there as well? I post a sampling of the random things around me and would love to connect there (here) too!

Brrrr! It is getting chilly! Exciting week for you and your Sox! How cute that the grandparents got to come visit. That's always fun for both!
Go Sox! Quite a Series so far...quite stressful :). Enjoy.
Haha...love your comment about waiting til November to sleep :). Remind me to tell you sometime about the
"phone bill" I racked up when the Phillies were in the playoffs and I was in Europe and fell asleep while listening to the game via internet connection. Ouch! haha.
I remember people being the same way when the Braves were in the Series. November is almost here! Then you can sleep. Love that you made soup. Chilly and soup are the perfect combination. Hope you have a great day and that the Sox come thru!
I have so many red sox fan friends, it's crazy. I prefer the yankees myself, lol.
Great game last night. I was so glad to see Papi get that hit! Enjoy the rest of the ride!
I dear, that means only 9 weeks til my 16 year old becomes a 17 year old. Noooooo!
I heard about the bad call on the radio this morning -- so sorry about that.
I haven't been watching much tv lately -- I'll have to keep tuned to your blog for Sox updates. :)
Oh Tamar! Thank you for being there in your P52 2013. I have been absent from it lately but now I am back. Keep cheering from them Red Sox! Boston is shining and strong and I am loving it. Thanks for the fun comment! Have a super DAY!
Okay, I'm sorry....I am so torn about who to cheer for. I like both teams and since the local team isn't playing, I just don't know what to do. Go Broncos! ;)
It has to be so exciting for your city right now...I can't even imagine the JOY and fun!
Brrr. I'm cold just reading this post ;)
Yay for the Sox!!
