Song-ography: Heroes among us

Forever united here somehow, yeah...
You got a piece of US...and honestly...OUR lives would suck without you.

I had something very different planned for this song, something silly really. But, then...

Saturday, I walked to Fenway, post parade, to see the banner and get some swag, I even saw two of my favorite players (more about that Tuesday...)!

AND then as I walked home I saw this man. This man is Carlos Arrendando. He became famous on the day of the bombings because of this picture. He saved Jeff Bauman's life. He jumped into action and was the first example of Boston Strong.

Folks, I met him. I thanked a hero for what he did. He exuded amazingness. Our city, everyone of us, would be a little less today if not for him. He united us, just as much as the Red Sox did this season.

Thank you Carlos. Thank you for being a shining example of Boston Strong!

Life would definitely suck without civility, humanitarianism, and kinship. Heros walk among us and even if just once you get the chance to thank one - you absolutely should. I hope you thanked him for all of us. Great picture (by the way).

So amazing. Love that you got to meet a real-life hero like that. Thank God he was not afraid to act when God put him in that exact place at that exact moment!

Great shot, and definitely it would be hard to survive life without knowing that there are still people like him

Not gonna lie...this photo made my day yesterday! What a blessing! I was surprised at how amazing it felt to see all those people at the parade - especially on Boyleston St and at the finish line. It was truly a full circle moment...I didn't know how much I needed that sight.

What a thrill that had to be to meet someone who played such a meaningful part in that tragedy.
Heroes are wonderful people and life would suck without those willing to jump in and help out in times like that. Great take on the song.

AMAAAAAZING that you got to meet him! I often wonder how I would react in a similar situation or one of high duress...would I rise? Would I fall? Hopefully I'll never have to find out. But I thank God that we DO have heroe's amongst us. Thanks for joining in on Song-ography! (and by the way...look how cute YOU are too!)
