Words.

"I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it."
"When you learn, teach. When you get, give."
"We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated"
"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style."
"Nothing can dim the light which shines from within."

-- Maya Angelou

What a power we lost last week. May her legacy and the power of her words live on within all of us.

Beautiful! Love to read her books ~ go back to them again and again. And I've seen so many of those purple globe shaped flowers this year - don't know if I've just noticed them more or there actually are more?!

I was thinking that sounded like her words! Love your flower pics!

One of the best birthday gifts
I ever got was a book of Maya Angelou's poetry.

Beautiful shots of the flower --esp. the purple ones (what are they?)/

Very powerful words - universal in fact; beautiful images as well.

Wonderful tribute to Maya Angelo. I love bleeding hearts. My grandma taught me them as my first flower. She lived right next door and passed when I was 13. She was my second momma. Thanks for this wonderful post.

(yes, half way after #3)

Great quotes. My favorite is "When you learn, teach. When you get, give." That sums up how to live. Your area is really spring-like finally. It's wonderful to see the green and the colorful blooms!
