Song-osity: Enter September

The sun's not so hot in the sky today...
I can see summertime slipping away...
a few more leaves turning red...
September grass is the sweetest kind...

It happened this week.
That fall feeling began arriving.
Brisk mornings.
Fleece jackets retrieved from the closet.
A chilly dew on the grass.
Hot coffee made once again.
The radiators warming the apartment.
Leaves nestled in the still green grass.

September is such an amazing month. The bridge between summer and fall. Signs of each as summer tries to hang on whilst fall makes its grand arrival. I'm ready. Ready to bid adieu to summer and embrace fall.

I have known some Septembers to be swept up in August and hang on to 80-90 degree days wells into the later part. Naughty month it can be. But this year it seems to be going along with the seasonal playbook and cooperating - and I for one, am most appreciative.

Lovely fall leaves.

I swear the leaves turned yesterday WHILE I WAS AT WORK! I drove up and everything was green, and on my way home - pops of red and yellow everywhere. I do so love that part of fall - SO MUCH

That sounds so wonderful! I'm at least enjoying mid 80's instead of triple digits, I'll take it! I so envy the fall leaves...

I am with Kim, we live only 45 minutes from on another, and I am tired of the triple digits too! I was giddy just looking at your pics my friend.

I love the anticipation of fall and the joy of that first chill in the air. We have had lovely mornings that give way to warm afternoons. Can't wait for more! Love seeing the changing leaves you captured.

These are really pretty pics - I love that they say "mostly green with just that first hint" - captures perfectly how it's looking around her now!

We didn't had a proper summer so this year September looks already "Fall"...

Love your photos - especially the first one. The colors of the leaf and the grass are so vibrant. We are finally getting some rain and the heat is gone...hoping it starts feeling like fall a little more (and the sun comes back for a bit longer).
