Song-osity: This is the New Year

This is the new year...
A million suns that shine upon me...
This is the new year...

This was the first time in a few years that I wasn't on an airplane, somewhere over Montana as the new year rolled in.

This year it was a nice lake in the Blue Ridge Hills.

This year, well, I suppose it was still last year, I sat out by the dock, watching the sun set behind the trees, 2014 was coming to a close. It was so peaceful to say goodbye to the calendar year. Those last quiet moments, in the chilly evening, maybe some of my favorite moments from the end of the year.

Then, after a quiet, yet fun, last night of 2014, I awoke to the sun streaming over the lake. The first sunrise of 2015. The first morning of the new year. As I stood out in the crisp mountain air, coffee in had, I greeted the day and the new year and thought about what lies ahead.

As I greeted the sun that morning, I decided that this is my new year...no specific goals, no resolutions, just the intention to greet each day and fully embrace 2015!

And! Come link up and join the Good.Random.Fun. each Monday, right here!

A very tranquil way to bid goodbye to a year that saw milestone changes in your life, as well as a serene and peaceful stage on which to embrace the unknown possibilities of a new year.

Oh this location sounds, and looks, ideal to welcome the dawn of a new year. Greet all the possibilities. It is such a positive beginning. And it's all about attitude...so I have no doubt 2015 is going to be one to remember for you my friend! Thanks for joining in at Song-ography.

This is wonderful - to be at the same beautiful spot for the sunset and sunrise as the year ends and begins. It leaves me with the thought that there is as much promise in the dawn of each new day as we might "pay attention" to at the dawn of a new year. Love your intention to greet each day with this heart and mindset!

And what you described is why I so love to go to the sunrise - great way to usher one year out and the next in.

Perfect place to relax! I feel calmer just looking at your photos! I chuckled to see you are addicted to Two Dots -- me too!!! Love it!

I spent the last couple hours of 2014 in the local Urgent Care center being treated for a "flu-like illness." I opened my eyes to the gorgeous New Year and croaked out, "May I have some cough medicine, please, and a cup of tea?"
