The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 2.1

The Good:
I spent the last week down in Georgia! The running joke was that I finally left the airport...much of the time was up around the gorgeous Blue Ridge Lake, in a stunning lake house owned by my friend's close family friends. It was so good to get out of the city, into the county, and relax. I had my ipad, but really just vegged out and relaxed: sleepy mornings, coffee on the porch, etc. Plus, two pretty decent travel experiences during a busy travel time...thankful for that, too!
A few days with this view....yeah... it was pretty amazing and a perfectly good way to ring in the new year and a nice way to recharge for the next part of the school year!

The Random:
I did have fun finding the fun and quirky differences down in the south. On New Year's Eve, we went into Blue Ridge and wandered around the town. It was a nice mix of little southern stores and more upscale vacation town shops. I did find some random funny bits...

The Fun:
This was a lazy vacation. I needed a lazy vacation. But despite the laziness, there was fun! Tons of Dr. Who, Top Gear, and movies (Slums of Beverly Hills, The Proposal, and The Birdcage). Time dozing in the car, games of pool and ping pong, olive oil tasting, and sunsets on the lake, plus time with a new addictive ipad game. Sounds busy, but much of this was done while in pjs until noon and evenings around a fire!

Happy new year! So glad you're here to join in the good.random.fun!

Sometimes the lazy vacations are the best. We tend to sprint through our holidays and then need a rest from the holiday. This year we did one week in Israel and one week at home to veg, catch up and introduce our kids to the best movies the 80's had to offer.

It looks and sounds delightful and a perfect way to ring in the new year. The step signs are certainly entertaining: "no politics * religion * toupees" - that about covers it. :)

Sounds like the perfect break! What gorgeous photos from your trip. I liked traveling down South and seeing the quirks as well. What is the new game or shouldn't I ask??

I love lazy, lie-in vacations! Everyone needs one once in a while.

I LOVE that shot you took of the sky / plane reflected on the glass windows (at the airport?)... beautiful orange hues and so clear.
