Song-osity: Snowy Day

Just a day...
Just an ordinary [snowy] day...

24.4 inches of snow. 6th biggest blizzard in Boston. 29 inches in my neighborhood. Snow falling for 30+ hours.

We Bostonians are hardy folk, but when they compare the incoming storm to the Blizzard of '78 you listen and prepare!

School closed 2 hours early on Monday as the flakes began to fly. By nightfall, there was a few inches on the ground and a snow day called for Tuesday (naturally since there was a travel ban!).

Waking up Tuesday to a sea of white, on the ground and in the air, was pretty amazing. The snow just kept falling and piling up. Inside though, a cozy morning with coffee, puzzles, pajamas, netflix all while the snow swirled and fell.

Finally I ventured out; it is pretty amazing to see your city empty, aside from the 2 feet of snow. Eventually they just run out of places to pile the snow...

Wednesday was a snow day too, as the clean up began. Another snowy day filled with more netflix being binged, and I attempted to re-plan my lesson plans. I wanted my snow days and I got two, and there is lots of winter left - in fact, we got another 16 inches yesterday and had another snow day and another one today!

And! Come link up and join the Good.Random.Fun. each Monday, right here!

Not there too? lol! Every time we have a big snow here my husband throws-back to the blizzard of '78. Oy! Love the time lapse images on the rod iron fence.

Wow, lots of snow. We have had just a total of less than an inch so far this winter which suits me just fine. Coffee, jigsaw puzzles, and Netflix are perfect for snow days.

Well, I guess snowy is ordinary where you are. I still find it extraordinary (and don't like it)

The snow looks lovely on my computer screen, but I sure am glad to not be where you are today! It's been a long time since I've been in the snow country, and I have to say I'm not missing it at all. Good luck, and be safe and warm.

So crazy...we were planning a trip to N.C and PA in March and I'm seriously wondering if we should cancel...we were going to drive.

This is not ordinary! Lol. This is amazing! I want to walk in it just to experience how deep it really is. These are awesome snow days. It really seems lovely.

Love the street scenes - and the snow on the wrought iron. It's insane - but kinda fun too! To have had two snow days from work in two weeks is a first for us!

That's just too much for me. I'm glad the heavy stuff missed us. I love your photos, especially the street view! It's magical. What are you bingeing on in Netflix?

I love to see the deep, deep snow in someone else's yard or in this case photos. lol We don't get some much in the way of snow here in the Tennessee Valley, but the Smoky's get its share of white in the upper elevations. This looks like a picture perfect day to stay indoors where it's snugly warm.

Come join me today at Curious as a Cathy!

The kids are jealous that you got so much snow! Of course, they don't know the less fun aspect of having snow...

You are going to be like my children's last school district, making up a full week of school in May.

You are certainly getting all our winter this year. It's been crazy mild - looking at spring like showers all week - winter was pretty much non-existent except for the cold. Won't be long - all that will be gone & we will be talking heat. Sounds like you had some good snow days packed with coziness.

Love all that snow! Wish you could send some our way. Here in Oregon, our mountains are severely lacking the white stuff. For a skier like me, that's bad news. Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)

I think I'll keep our rain!
It sure is snowy there for sure. Can't believe you ventured out in it. I'd stay inside reading, watching TV, baking or taking a nice nap.
