The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 12

The Good:
I was invited over to a friend's for shabbat dinner and I brought desert. A berry crisp hit the spot. This time I used coconut butter instead of margarine and it came out so good!

The Random:
I got a good laugh over this. Our phonics program uses a cue word and picture to remind kids of certain spelling patterns. Best picture ever is for "i-l-d, wild /ild/"!

The Fun:
We broke the record! 7ish last Sunday night, we officially broke the snowfall record! (and have gotten an additional 1.8 inches since...)

Hoping that's it for the record! Can't wait until y'all can party. :)

I hope that record holds for the next ten years. It feels like we have the wind speed record up here. I wake up every morning waiting to see trees down in the yard; not yet thank God.

it's actually crazy that you got so much snow and we didn't even have a snow day this year! so glad I live here and not there... :)

Well I know that the snow hasn't made to TOO grumpy about it...but regardless, I'm wishing you spring's arrival STAT.

I'm sure, looking back, that you aren't really that excited about breaking the snowfall record, since you have experienced so much snow this year.

So hoping the snow is over for you guys (and me during my visit) - suddenly I am questioning why I didn't impose on my brother to use his beach house and fly Allyson south for break (but this is possibly the last break in New England - oh my!).
I still have the 'Hook On Phonics" set I got for the kids when they were young - not sure why I am still holding on to them as I've gotten rid of so many other learning tools from their early years.

Your crisp looks yummy.

I've never tried coconut butter. Hmm, will have to check it out. I just got a tub of ghee to try, though.

Well, if you're going to have such a miserable winter, you might as well break a record. That dessert does look delicious.
