Song-osity: Do Summer

Work it harder, make it better...
More than ever...work is never over...

-- Daft Punk "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"

Oh the irony of posting this the first official week of summer vacation.

But the truth is, a teacher's work is never over. I do work on revising curriculum as the year goes by, but summer is the time when I can really make my changes or write new curriculum.

At the start of summer the amount I have to do seems overwhelming! I want my me time and down time and a break, but I do want to do the work for September too.

My cousin (hi Lisa!) posted on Facebook last week about the #DoSummer2015 challenge. The idea is simple, spend at least 15 minutes each day on one task. Over the summer, you'll spend up to 1,500 minutes on this one task! Think how much you'll get done on this!

SO! For my #DoSummer2015 challenge, I will spend at least 30 minutes a day on the units I chose to fix up this summer, mainly the first half of my math curriculum. I have the frameworks, I just want to put the legwork into get it ship shape for the fall! I bet if I set a timer, I can get a ton done in 30 minutes. I bet I may be done before school starts.

So...what will you work on this summer? 15 minutes a day can go a long way in reaching a goal or accomplishing a large task!
And! Come link up and join the Good.Random.Fun. each Monday, right here!

Hmmmm...I's have to think of something to work on each day. Not that I don't have things to do, just which would get the daily honor!

I worked for a manager who would find things to do in those 10-15 minutes you kinda waste as you are heading out the door.

Tamar, this is a Great challenge. Number one, 15-30 minutes goes by in a flash, two, 1500 divided by 60 gives a whopping twenty-five hours on the chosen task, and three, bundling the whole thing up in a fUn #DO SUMMER 2015 - it's like a rock band T shirt or something. "Hey -did you catch the #Do Summer 2015 tour?"
I am picking out my task and starting tomorrow!

What a great challenge!

I could use it for so many things - practicing violin or mandolin, reading a classic, exercising, gardening, homeschool planning...

That's a great challenge that will only reap benefits 100 fold for next year! You always inspire me with the way you dedicate yourself to teaching.

Very inspiring Tamar. Unfortunately we do know that summer can't be all play and no work but 15 minutes, pfffft.......that's a breeze.

Hey, that's a great idea! I'll have to factor in travel time, though... as technically, I'll only have about 2 weeks, but hey, that's still good. :)

Wow -- you are one conscientious teacher! You have so much energy. I do hope you can have some "me" time to enjoy, too. Your students are so lucky to have you :)

You are way more dedicated than I am. Sadly, (or happily) I don't plan on doing anything for teaching this summer. I do plan on working towards my goal of making my farm support me.
