5 weeks (less one day) from today, school is back in session. 4 weeks until I am back for staff week.
I've been in and out of my classroom this summer, putting it back together again, making changes, redecorating, getting the little things out of the way so I can spend August getting the big things squared away.
This is the first summer where I haven't hit the middle of August and lamented that summer was essentially over. The first time I don't feel rushed or stressed about getting it all set.
It is also the first time, since I began teaching, that I am in the exact same role I was in the prior year. This year I am really making the room look and feel the way I want it, the curriculum is ready, now it's all about polishing things to get them perfect and ready for a whole new adventure in the classroom!
And! Come link up and join the Good.Random.Fun. each Monday, right here!

Not even 5 days for us! :) Love all of those happy colors.
LOVE these pictures. Even though I'm not a teacher and am quite happy with my decision to not follow that path, this was my first dream of a career and there's just enough teacher in me to adore all the return to school pictures. This post just makes me so very happy.
Wishing you the best!!! Our schools start next week. One daughter and 3 daughters-in-law are prepping. Photos are really inspiring...Parents should see how hard you work!!!
Oh how I love all the supplies!!!! It's going to be great Tamar!!!
I am not quite ready to think about the end of summer yet. But, i always love new school supplies...markers and paper and a fresh start!
Everyone knows the New Year really begins with the start of school and is tied to the School Year. It has a beautiful rhythm and flow to it that I, for one, have never outgrown. I always long for a new pencil box come September. And a new outfit!
Can I come be a guest Bubbe in your class???
Lucky kids to have such a dedicated teacher! :)
I'm not sure when school starts back up for us but it will probably be in the next few weeks. I am so glad you are in the same place this year and teaching the same grade. That helps the prep work. I always feel bad when I hear of teachers moving every year to a different room and grade. So stressful.
It is a great feeling when one is prepared and ready for the new to begin. I know it will be a great year for you (and your students)!!
There is such peace in falling back into the familiar. I'm so glad that you get to have a less stressful start. It makes a difference in everything. I know you'll have an amazing year. I vacillate between lamenting summer's end and knowing that a new school year can serve as the great equalizer and all the pressure to have a fun summer will be over.
