Donut time!

A few weeks ago, Kinnikinnick Foods sent me an email asking if I would like to taste their two new donuts and review them right here. My stomach and I were more than happy to oblige and last week a box arrived on my stoop with a box of their new soft donuts with vanilla icing and pumpkin spice donuts, perfect for fall.
They recommend keeping their donuts in the freezer so I popped them in there and took them out Sunday morning for a tasty breakfast. To be enjoyed, they simply need to be reheated in the microwave for about 30 seconds. They both smelled amazing, too!
I could instantly tell the soft donuts were indeed, soft. I grew up with glutenous soft donuts ala Dunkin' and miss them terribly. I've enjoyed the Kinnikinnick cake donuts before and have loved them, so getting to try a seasonable pumpkin spice one had me excited, too.
A nice feature of the soft vanilla donuts is the vanilla icing packs. Usually you get one big pack for all the donuts, this has individual icing packs, perfect for each donut.
Reheated and iced, it was time to dig in! The soft donuts instantly brought me back to my childhood. I could not believe it was gluten, dairy, or egg free! Perfect texture, perfect taste, just wow! The pumpkin spice was so ooey and gooey with the glaze. I seriously enjoyed this one too, but the soft donuts just won me over, thank you childhood nostaglia.
Thank you Kinnikinnick for once again creating excellent gluten free foods, it made my Sunday breakfast delicious and I can't wait to enjoy the rest of the packs.

But! That's not all. Kinnikinnick has an amazing offer for you all! 5 people. Yes 5 people, will win 4 boxes of donuts (yes 4 boxes!): the two reviewed above and the chocolate and cinnamon sugar donuts! How can you say NO to that opportunity! Just comment and enter through the Rafflecopter below. Giveaway is open through next Thursday at 12 am. Good luck!

Ummm...yes please!

Did you know donuts are another specialty of PDX? OF course there is the famous VooDoo donuts (which I've never been to), but there are several specialty donut shops around the city. We've found our favorite, but it's fun to try others looking for a new favorite.

Those do look delicious. Pumpkin spice, cinnamon, chocolate-what can possibly go wrong with all those wonderful flavors?

Looks good but I am allergic to yeast as well as wheat. Oh well, I'm supposed to avoid sweets anyway.
