St. George Island

Down in Bermuda, the pale blue sea...
Way down in Bermuda, yeah it's easy to believe...

{Fleetwood Mac -- Bermuda Triangle}

We had an amazing tour guide while in Bermuda. He took us all over the island over the course of two days. He taught us so much about the island and took us to all the sights.

On our second day of touring, we went to the small island of St. George. It was the first part of Bermuda to be settled, when the British arrived in 1612.

I love the historic feel of St. George, the old colorful buildings and cobble stone streets. It's amazing to know these buildings have withstood time so well and are so well preserved and loved by the locals.

We left the small city and drove to the north of the island, the northern most point of the small country and saw Fort St. Catherine - used to once defend the country. We climbed the St. David's lighthouse - with stunning views of the whole island and ocean for miles and miles.

We ended the day at Turtle Bay and Clearwater Beach. I had seen turtles earlier at the aquarium (serious sea turtle lover!) and we both waded into the water - because when in Bermuda on a pristine pink sand beach, you totally pose in the water!

This island is amazing. British colony - they drive on the left, they have their own currency which is equal to the US dollar cent for cent, everyone is so friendly, know so much about their island, and welcome visitors to their island!
