Spartan

I've never been afraid of the highest heights....
Or afraid of flying...

{Be a Spartan -- Spartan Race Start Song}

Aroo!

I decided to cap off my year of running by doing the Spartan Fenway Sprint....4 weeks after running a half marathon (I'm not nuts, my mother had me tested).

I signed up to run with two good friends from the gym - together we vowed to get through the stadium and obstacles.

The weather was amazingly gorgeous. We ran though America's oldest ball park...up stairs, down stairs, through rows of seats. We climbed walls (Dave let us use his knee and shoulder as stools), we hoisted sand bags, we hauled stones, we did burpees, we did pushups, we carried water jugs and sand pancakes, we jumped rope with weighted battle ropes, threw a spear (or not), did monkey bars, slammed balls, scaled a wall, climbed up and over net walls, and more!

It was just amazing to cross that finish line and get the medal and shirt. We got through as a team. Lots of smiles, minimal blood, and a fair amount of sweat.

I've never been so sore (and I've run a half!) but it was so worth it!!

Ah, to be young and full of energy, good for you and your pals! A friend and customer of him who is not longer with us ran a marathon each week. When asked how he trained, he'd ask I run a marathon each week and drink Coke and eat potato chips! Thanks Tamar for visiting this week, run back again!

You are AMAZING!!! I told Ryan you did this (after I saw your Instagram post) and he was so jealous! He did one before we started dating and LOVED IT. (And sprained his ankle. But don't tell him I told you that part.)
