The End.

And in a flash...the end of the school year is here.
It seems like yesterday that I had 35 small 8 year olds sitting before me. But in the blink of an eye...they are grown up nine year olds, ready to move onto fourth grade.
This year was just amazing. This group of kiddos was beyond special. They worked hard. They gave everything their all. They ate up everything I taught them. They thrived. They let me push them in so many ways and they did so with gusto.
Never had I had a group so witty, so sweet, so innocent, and so hilarious. We laughed nearly every second of the day. We truly bonded this year, more so than I have ever bonded with another class. They came to third grade with so much love to give and soaked up every second of love I gave back to them.
Maybe it was the cold spring that we had, but it didn't hit me until last week that it was time to say goodbye and let them fly. I selfishly want to keep them longer, but I know they are ready to go. They have transformed before my eyes and I am so so so proud of them.
We all set big goals for ourselves. This was a year of growth mindsets, new experiences, inside jokes, and the power of yet. I tried new teaching techniques on my willing and able guinea pigs. I think I learned as much as they taught me!
Now, after an amazing year in third grade, it's time for to close the "third grade chapter" of their school career and start a well deserved summer of fun!

What a wonderful post. You are obviously a thoughtful and devoted teacher. That is why the year has rushed by and why you are so attached to your kids. Enjoy the break now!

We still have one week of school left for our kiddos! And I am not ready to be full time mom again! I don't know how you teachers do it every day, but I can say this...you are appreciated, you are fabulous, and I thank you! I hope you have a wonderful summer vacation!

I can only imagine that the end of the school year is bittersweet - so thrilled to see how much they grew over the year and sorry to see them leave. Wonderful memories I'm sure - and I'm betting they taught you a thing or two along the way (as children have a way to do with us adults). Love that first image. Bravo Tamar to another great year.

35 students, wow! Do you have a teacher's assistant? So wonderful to read about your class and the learning going on there.
