The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 24

The Good:
On Friday, we wrapped up our huge social studies unit on the Native Americans. The kids wrote the most amazing research papers, made artifacts, and created audio guides for our museum experience. So proud of these kids.

The Random:
Color War was Thursday! It was a blast of a day and a bunch of us teachers got smart when it came to serving the popsicles at the end of the day...pitchers to hold them and save our hands!

The Fun:
Coolidge Corner has its annual arts festival over the weekend. There were some fantastic vendors this year. I got some new Boston art to hang up!

I was at the Beacon Hill art walk on the 4th. Next year I'll check out the one at Coolidge corner.

Wow! What a cool unit! Made me remember a unit we did in junior high on the Civil War. (It was before themed units were the thing to do, but they tried and I do remember it! That's more than I can say for most of the rest of what I "learned." LOL!)

Z also recently finished a unit on Culture (she chose to research the Celts) and the entire Year 5 mounted an exhibit that showcased what they know about various ancient civilizations. So wonderful to see the outcome of their learning, isn't it?

Looks like a fun art festival. I can tell your kids did great with their social studies projects. That looks fun too and perfect idea for holding those ice-pops.

That one that says 'Hill' is a Matisse though, or is it a 'copy' of MAtisse? And is the top Chuilly? (sp?) Lovely pics

Fun post. Popcicles are yummy - Coleen and I have been enjoying them this summer. Great Native American studies, fun to see what you teach your kids. - Neat art, I like the ones at the end with the birds.
