National Cathedral

When I was back in DC last weekend I really wanted to get to my favorite place: The National Cathedral. Nestled in the NW of the city, it's a stunning architectural work that I found to be my peaceful retreat early in my college years.
The second I entered the main chapel I sighed and felt at peace. It is such an amazingly gorgeous space, one where regardless of your religion of belief you feel welcomed and at peace.

I used to walk there many weekends to just explore and be. It was good for my soul to finally go back!

Oh how beautiful, Tamar! I love that you found peaceful retreat there! I used to have a little spot under a particular tree in a park near my home during my college years where I often found my peaceful retreat. Now with young children and a much different lifestyle, I don't think I have experienced peaceful retreat in close to a decade! This made me yearn for it. Once school is back, I think I may make a weekly ritual of finding a quiet place to meditate. Thanks for inspiring me with this post.

I love the National Cathedral. It may be my favorite spot in D.C. The last time I was there, a visiting high school choir stood in the middle and started to sing ... amazing! Thanks for the memories! Happy Thursday and thanks for hosting.

Impressive and wonderful cathedral; stunning old architecture, the arches, the stained glass windows and the structure in gothic style. It must be lovely to stay a moment or more to have a peaceful time, in there! So many years ago, I saw the St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague having a similar architecture. Many thanks for sharing these amazing captures in colors and b&w!
A very nice day and weekend, as well!
