Another book read. I love Brian Selznick's books (he also wrote Hugo and Wonderstruck). This was one was just as beautifully written and illustrated!

Local shops are opening slowly in new capacities and getting cheeky with their window displays!
The Fun:
We had a Zoom field trip with Zoo New England. We learned about box turtles and chinchillas. I wanted to reach through the screen and pet it!

Ooh yes!! That chinchilla looks so fluffy and cute. I too would have wanted to touch :)
Even the cover of that book is beautifully illustrated. I haven’t been in any retail stores yet. There is one I want to go to because I want to support it. It’s one of my favourite local shops but other than that I still don’t really need anything.
The zoom trip to the zoo looks so fun! And how cute is that chinchilla. I am loving that store front’s cheeky window display, too!

What a cute store-front. I'm afraid we're not as cheeky down South--it's more like, everybody come back in! (but don't mention covid). It's no wonder our numbers are spiking. :(

My boys always ask about getting a pet chinchilla each time we see/pet them at the zoo. They are so soft and so cute! We loved Wonderstruck and Hugo but haven't read that book yet. I'm going to have to see if our library has it.
