But there's some things you can't do inside those city limits...
{Tim McGraw -- Down on the Farm}
There was a farmer's market there when we arrived which was a fun fall bonus. A total gem in the county!
We took advantage of a perfect October day and drove up to Katonah to explore Muscoot Farm.
Muscoot Farm was originally a gentleman's farm (they farmed for pleasure vs profit) owned by the Hopkins family. At first, they used it as their summer home and as a dairy farm. Then, in 1924, the family moved to the farm year-round and continued the dairy business until 1967 when the County took over the property.
Today it's home to the original buildings and 50+ animals. We didn't see their pigs or donkeys but saw loads of other adorable farm animals. The buildings are closed due to COVID but it was fun to explore the property and see how extensive the farm was back in the day.

I'm totally asking people if they're giving me a "cow's worth of distancing" from now on!!! Love it!
...you found a different New York, one that I enjoy. Thanks.
What a great fun excursion...and thanks for my laugh at the "cows distance apart."
Looks like a great trip. That kitty was so cute!
Keeping one cow apart is great.
What a grand old mansion!
Looks like such a beautiful farm. I’d love to see inside the house.
What a beautiful farm. So very nice.
Looks like a fabulous place to visit. Farms are such good places for children.
Love the cow's distance sign! I saw one recently that advised three pigs' distance. LOL! Beautiful place you visited!
What a neat place to visit. The Cow sign was funny and that cow itself was pretty cute.
