Fireworks!

The one "must-do" for me on July 4th is fireworks. Growing up we saw amazing shows over the Atlantic Ocean or Surf Stadium. In the last few years, I haven't had much luck with the live viewing, between travel and COVID. But this year...oh I was literally as close as you could get to the Hudson for the Tarrytown show. The new bridge was all patriotic for the occasion, too!
It was a super show. I had a giddy smile on my face the whole time. When the finale was over the crowd burst into applause, not a normal "yay fireworks" applause but a "what a year this was normal" applause. Then someone screamed "thank you science!" and I got all misty-eyed. Thank you science indeed for a normal July 4th!

I like big fireworks shows but not when individuals set off their own fireworks. However, the part about someone yelling "Thank you science!" gave me cold chills and brought tears to my eyes. Aawwww -- thank you for sharing that.

We get a pretty good fireworks show in our neighborhood but that must have been so cool. I love that someone yelled that out!

Thank you for posting your fireworks pictures so I could have one to "watch." :)

Glad you had such a lovely show of fireworks. - Sadly our city cancelled ours due to the extreme heat and dry conditions but that didn't stop people from setting off their own so we weren't without some kind of a show.

What a perfect spot for viewing fireworks! We haven't really seen any this year as we had a really cloudy/ rainy 4th of July weekend and all the local displays were canceled.
